I have gone to Singh Neurology for more than 5 months and it has changed my life – for the better for sure. I met Dr. Singh when he was doing rounds at Cedars Sinai Hospital; I was there for many ailments, neurological, possible stroke, all of which turned out to be “negative.” Which was good, but then, why was I having such pain in my feet, neck and shoulders and GERDS.

Dr. Singh asked me if I believe in Eastern as well as Western Medicine, I said “yes” he then asked did I believe “stress” was a real medical condition and again I answered “yes.” He suggested I come to his clinic and begin yoga therapy with Doris Puehringer and the results have been so amazing my wife Lian always encourages me to go and my daughter Melinda attends the classes as well. Doris’ is a gifted healer with a brilliant life force and multi-disciplinary approach to body pain – deep breathing, meditation, Tai chi, stretching, and a group dynamic that is supportive and challenging.

I do not miss a class and have over time given up use of major painkillers. I still have pain in my neck, back and feet but dramatically reduced and every class I come out of with all the pain relieved. This is a gift, there are only 6 spots in each class so if this is for you make your appointments and dig in for the long haul. Diagnosis: Severe Migraine Headaches derived from stress. Diagnosed after extensive observations with Dr. Singh and others.

I started the yoga therapy and I felt improvement in the first week. My energy level went up and I cut out the energy drink "Redbull" which I used to drink 3 cans per day + coffee. I started off with special yoga breathingbreathing exercises I would not need Espresso, that was my morning must followed by a can of Redbull. I completely stopped drinking any energy drinks and decreased the coffee to 3-4 cups a week.

On the 4th week, I felt a little migraine coming on and I did Legs up the wall and 5 minutes of yoga breathing  and amazing and surprising to me the signs of the migraine disappeared. I felt very rested and at peace. On another occasion, I was shopping with my friend in Chinatown and due to the increased amount of color, noise, and the crowd I got a headache. I left immediately and went to the car. While driving I practiced the yoga breathing and again the headache disappeared.

It works like a miracle. In the beginning I was very hesitant when Dr. Singh was pushing me to start the yoga. I was in disbelief that simple breathing techniques

After the first week I felt better already, now since I am in the 6th week, I can tap in when situations occur, thanks to YOU DORIS,  I am more calm and if I feel I am going to explode I just do yoga breathing and I calm down.

Thank you very much Doris, because now when I feel the same as before, like angry at the world and bitchy and like there is no exit from a situation but taking a pill to calm me down, I just disconnect my self through breathing. I have not had a major out-break of Migraines since practicing the breathing techniques you have taught me.
